I have been on a tour to Devgad on Thursday 28th February 2008.
The cold wave that gripped whole of India in February had affected the mango plantations in Ratnagiri and Devgad. Due to this the season has been delayed. There is the onset of second flowering and the fruits of this flowering are only expected at end of April 2008. There has been some instances of fruit drop due to the onset of second flowering in some places. Thus the arrivals are expected to be marginal in March 2008. The real season will be in April and May this year.

Hello Yatin
First time over on your blog and was delighted to see a blog dedicated to our beloved fruit "Amba" and particularly "Haapus". Am from Pune but currently based in UK. Fortunately we do get to eat Hapus here too though not on the scale that we eat back home in India. Do keep posting interesting tidbits of info. Will visit again
